About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Part-Time Professor for the course SEG3501A, Ingénierie des exigences, during the 2026 Fall Semester. This course focuses on techniques for requirements elicitation, languages and models for representing requirements, analysis and validation techniques (including needs, goals, and use case analysis), requirements in the context of systems engineering, specification and measurement of external qualities (performance, reliability, availability, safety, security, etc.), specification and analysis of requirements for various system types (embedded, consumer, web applications, business, scientific, and other engineering systems), resolution of service interactions, requirements documentation standards, traceability, human factors, requirements in agile processes, and requirements and change management. The teaching method will be delivered in person. The contract includes payment for 52 hours, requiring the professor to attend tutorials at least one hour per week on average.

Requirements

Excellent knowledge of course subject matter, demonstrated by having taught similar or related courses, or demonstrated by relevant work experience.
Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer.
Regular applicants must have a doctorate in a field related to the course, or relevant work experience in a field related to the course after obtaining their Ph.D.
