About The Position
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach CSI3120A: Programming Language Concepts during the 2026 Fall Semester. This course covers the design and evaluation criteria for programming languages, including syntactic and semantic descriptions, implementation basics, scripting languages, and a comparison of design choices across programming paradigms. It also touches upon basics of concurrency. The teaching method will be delivered in person, and the professor will be expected to attend tutorials for at least one hour per week.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of course subject matter, demonstrated by having taught similar or related courses, or demonstrated by relevant work experience.
- Regular applicants must have a doctorate and it should be in a field related to the course (especially in the case where the course is more specialized), if not, they must have a relevant work experience in a field related to the course, after having obtained a Ph.D.
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
