About The Position

Eastern Michigan University’s GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology has several lecturer positions in engineering technology and construction management to deliver programs in the People’s Republic of China. Each position is a 12-month appointment, including teaching during the regular Fall and Winter academic terms and a guaranteed summer appointment. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed based on performance evaluation and availability of funds. The position requires being physically in China for most of the year. The lecturer will teach undergraduate courses, hold scheduled weekly office hours, and advise students. The role includes service, research, assessment, and accreditation responsibilities, as well as participation in departmental and student-related activities.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Mechanical, Computer, or Product Design engineering or engineering technology, or construction management; candidates in closely related fields will be considered.
Candidates with an MS degree and significant industrial experience will also be considered.

Nice To Haves

Teaching experience with college-level courses and/or industrial experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses.
Hold scheduled weekly office hours and advise students.
Deliver service components, including supporting assessment and accreditation.
Participate in student recruitment, registration, orientation, convocations, and commencements.
Attend and participate in scheduled departmental meetings and functions.
Conduct research at EMU.
Provide assessment reports.
Support the accreditation process and other program-related activities.
Perform related departmental duties as required.
