About The Position

The University of Miami, Department of Writing Studies, seeks applicants for part-time lecturer positions to teach one or two sections of Writing. Duties include teaching one or two sections of Writing Studies. Classes may include Writing Center tutoring and First-year Writing courses. In addition, duties require a minimum of one hour per week of office hours per course to meet with students. An essential function and requirement of this position is in-person, face-to-face teaching for all classes. An appointment/offer is contingent upon student demand (enrollments) and available funding with the possibility that final confirmation will not be available until classes begin. Requirements

• 1 year of college teaching experience
• MA or MFA in English (or relevant field) to teach First-year Writing or tutor in the Writing Center
