About The Position

The Department of Public Health at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas: Child development- Infancy to middle childhood, Child development- Middle childhood through adolescence, Professional communication in the CAS discipline, Assessment in child and adolescent development, Research methods in child and adolescent development, Learning and motivation in early childhood, Infant/toddler development, Working with parents of young children, Adolescent and the media, Adolescent sexuality and intimate relationship, Parenting in the 21st century, and General introduction to child development. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • A Masters or Doctorate degree in Child Development/Developmental Psychology or closely related field prior to appointment.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Strong background in child development theory and research.
  • Interest in preparing undergraduates to work effectively with children, adolescents and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collegially in a multicultural environment.
  • Must be available on very short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Child and Adolescent Studies.
  • Prepare undergraduates to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Participate in departmental reviews of syllabi, assignments, and reading materials.
