About The Position

The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the subject areas of Information Systems (Management Information Systems / MIS), Statistics / Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, and Data Analytics / Information Technology. Applicants are also encouraged to indicate interest in graduate-level teaching in the M.S. in Information Systems (MSIS) and the MBA concentrations in Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Decision Sciences. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Operations Research, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Sciences or related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
• Relevant experience in a related quantitative or computational field.
• Demonstrated competency with the tools used in our courses appropriate to the teaching area — for example SQL/databases, Python or R, Tableau or Power BI, Excel modeling, and/or systems analysis and design.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Must be available on very short notice.
• Must comply with the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act as a mandated reporter.
• Must complete a satisfactory background check.

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral degree in a related field.
• Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
• Relevant performance and professional experience.
• Ability to describe professional currency, certifications, and/or scholarly activity to support AACSB accreditation classification.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g., generative AI / large language models, AI-assisted analytics and coding), and the ability to integrate them responsibly into instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the subject areas of Information Systems (Management Information Systems / MIS), Statistics / Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, and Data Analytics / Information Technology.
• Potentially teach graduate-level courses in the M.S. in Information Systems (MSIS) and the MBA concentrations in Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Decision Sciences.
• Be available on very short notice for temporary appointments.
• Participate in regular performance evaluations.
• Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading materials reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
