About The Position

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking candidates for a Part-time Lecturer Pool in the Department of Teacher Education & Foundations. The successful candidates will provide high-quality supervision and mentoring to student teachers and intern teachers. Responsibilities include participating in program events, training, meetings, attending new student teacher orientation, and university supervisor professional development. The role also involves establishing and maintaining positive relationships among resident teachers, credential programs, and the Teacher Education and Foundations Department. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education.
  • California issued certification in K-12 in teaching and/or administrative experience.
  • 10 years of successful teaching experience in the K-12 setting.
  • Familiarity with K-12 educational policies in California.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Passion for working with student teachers who are themselves English learners.
  • Degree in hand by time of appointment.
  • California issued certification in K-12 in teaching and/or administrative experience.
  • 10 years of successful teaching experience in the K-12 setting.
  • Familiarity with K-12 educational policies in California.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise student teachers at school sites on a bi-weekly basis and debrief with them.
  • Mentor student teachers.
  • Conduct mid-term and final evaluations and post their grades in a timely manner.
  • Assist student teachers with the CalTPA.
  • Assist student teachers with the New Literacy Standards.
  • Respond to general questions from students.
  • Participate in the Supervisor Learning Community and Networking.
  • Assist student teachers in dealing with day-to-day problems they may have in the classroom.
