About The Position

The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in various subject areas including Developmental Writing, Beginning College Writing, Advanced College Writing, Scientific and Technical Writing, Creative Writing, Introductory Literature courses, Advanced Literature/Composition and Rhetoric courses, Introductory Linguistics courses, and Advanced Linguistics courses. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • Candidates for introductory courses must have at least a Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics.
  • A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400-level).
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Complete online application.
  • Submit Cover Letter which includes a statement of which courses qualified to teach.
  • Submit Curriculum Vitae.
  • Submit Copy of unofficial transcripts conferring highest terminal degree.
  • Submit a list of three (3) references with contact information.
  • Submit Inclusive Excellence Statement.
  • Submit sample of course syllabi.
  • Submit Teaching Evaluations (if available).
  • Provide three letters of recommendation (once selected as a finalist).
  • Provide official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office emailed to [email protected] (before official hire).
  • Be available on very short notice.
  • Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended).
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantial allegation of misconduct (applicants who reach the final stages of the application process).
