About The Position

The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in various subject areas including Developmental Writing, Beginning College Writing, Advanced College Writing, Scientific and Technical Writing, Creative Writing, Introductory Literature courses, Advanced Literature/Composition and Rhetoric courses, Introductory Linguistics courses, and Advanced Linguistics courses. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

Candidates for introductory courses must have at least a Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics.
A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400-level).
Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.

Submit Copy of unofficial transcripts conferring highest terminal degree.
Submit a list of three (3) references with contact information.

Submit Teaching Evaluations (if available).
Provide three letters of recommendation (once selected as a finalist).
Provide official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office emailed to [email protected] (before official hire).
Be available on very short notice.
Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended).
Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantial allegation of misconduct (applicants who reach the final stages of the application process).
