About The Position

The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking applications for part-time lecturers in the School Psychology program. This program offers an Ed.S. degree, preparing students for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS) with a specialization in School Psychology, and is designed to meet national accreditation standards from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The program focuses on data-based decision-making within an ecological framework to foster positive outcomes for school-aged youth, their families, and school personnel. We are looking for candidates with expertise in school psychology or a related field, experienced in providing evidence-based services in Pre-K-12 settings. Responsibilities include teaching graduate-level courses, preparing and delivering instruction aligned with CTC standards, grading assignments, holding office hours, and reporting on student progress to the program coordinator. Course assignments will depend on program needs and the candidate's expertise, potentially including practicum and internship supervision. Candidates may also engage in program-related meetings and activities. Those with current or recent experience in PreK-12 school psychological services, and expertise in areas like assessment, consultation, counseling, intervention, multi-tiered systems of support, and culturally responsive practice, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Master's, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Knowledge and experience using evidence-based practices to support positive outcomes with Pre-K–12 youth, their families, and school personnel
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, the California Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology

Nice To Haves

  • A doctoral degree from a NASP and/or APA-accredited School Psychology program or a closely related discipline
  • Experience teaching graduate-level courses and/or mentoring or supervising graduate students in school psychology or related disciplines, including practicum and internship supervision
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in school psychology or related school-based settings
  • Expertise in one or more areas of school psychological practice, including assessment, consultation, counseling, academic or behavioral intervention, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and culturally responsive practice
  • Experience working effectively with culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse students, families, schools, and communities
  • Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential or eligibility
  • Eligibility for psychologist licensure

Responsibilities

  • Teaching graduate courses, including practicum and internship supervision courses, as assigned
  • Supporting program efforts related to accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with program faculty to maintain alignment between coursework and professional standards
