About The Position

The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking applications for part-time lecturers in the Rehabilitation Counseling Program. This program prepares graduate students to become professional rehabilitation counselors who assist individuals with disabilities in achieving personal, social, and vocational independence. The role involves teaching graduate-level rehabilitation counseling courses and/or supervising students in practicum and internship fieldwork. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering instruction aligned with program and accreditation standards, assessing student learning, holding office hours, and providing feedback. Course and supervision assignments depend on program needs and candidate expertise. Part-time faculty are also expected to participate in program events, meetings, and orientation sessions. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and working effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling is required.
  • CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) certification is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Nice To Haves

  • An earned doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counselor Education, or a closely related field.
  • Evidence of successful graduate-level teaching in counseling or a related discipline.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising graduate students in rehabilitation counseling fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with the Canvas learning management system.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, professional engagement, and/or publication in rehabilitation counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching graduate-level rehabilitation counseling courses as assigned.
  • Supervising students in practicum, internship, and/or fieldwork experiences as assigned.
  • Participating in program events, meetings, and student orientation sessions.
  • Collaborating with program faculty to maintain alignment among coursework, fieldwork, professional counseling competencies, and accreditation standards.
