Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Accounting (AY 26/27)
About The Position
The Accounting Area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time accounting lecturers for possible teaching assignments in financial and managerial accounting, income taxation, and accounting information systems. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026-27 academic year, which begins August 17, 2026. Assignments are contingent upon class availability, scheduling, budget and enrollments. Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are: Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677 Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224 Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523 Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated currency in the professional field through ongoing work, training, or engagement with industry trends.
- Substantial and relevant industry experience, showing depth of knowledge and practical application in the field.
- Must reside in the state of California at the time of hire and for the entirety of the appointment.
- Must be available on very short notice.
Nice To Haves
- Masters degree in business or related discipline, and professional certification.
