Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Taxation (AY 26/27)
About The Position
The Accounting Area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers. Positions are available as determined by need and funding for teaching assignments in Taxation during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026-2027 academic year, which begins August 17, 2026. The Orfalea College of Business offers a master's in accountancy with a tax specialization and undergraduate classes in taxation. The area is seeking qualified applicants that can teach taxation at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the following subject areas: multi-state taxation, international, individual, corporate, partnership, estate and gift and/or reorganizations. Assignments are contingent upon class availability, scheduling, budget and enrollments. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Requirements
- Masters degree in taxation or accounting, related discipline, and professional certification required.
- Must demonstrate a strong teaching record and currency in professional field.
- Professional and/or teaching experience required.
- Must reside in the state of California at the time of hire and for the entirety of the appointment.
- Must be available on very short notice.
Responsibilities
- Teach taxation at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in subject areas including multi-state taxation, international, individual, corporate, partnership, estate and gift and/or reorganizations.
Benefits
- The classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are: Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677, Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224, Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523, Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
