Requirements

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) for clinical teaching in BSN program
Master’s Degree (MSN) for didactic teaching in the BSN program
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience
An unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Kentucky
Curriculum Vitae required

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree (MSN) preferred
Prior teaching experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Attend orientation/trainings
Submit course syllabus
Order textbooks or other reading materials
Provide developmentally meaningful feedback
Present engaging and diverse learning experiences
Respond to students in a timely manner
Communicate regularly with designated course chair
Maintain collegial and respectful relations with members of the UofL community and external stakeholders
Submit course data and final grades within university deadlines
Comply with other requests as a part-time lecturer
Design and implement the clinical experience to meet the clinical and/or course objectives, under the direction of the clinical coordinator (for clinical instructor role)
Provide director or indirect supervision of the student, as outlined in the course expectations (for clinical instructor role)
Provide student performance feedback and evaluate progress in meeting established clinical/course objectives and outcomes (for clinical instructor role)
Consult with the clinical coordinator if student’s deviate from the established expectations (for clinical instructor role)
