About The Position

The National Safety Council is seeking part-time instructors to teach Defensive Driving Course (DDC) curriculum to adult and teen students. Instructors explain the importance of safe driving and may teach motorists who are required by a state or court to attend a driver retraining program. Courses are held on weekdays, weekends, and evenings, and typically involve four to eight hours of instruction, depending on the curriculum. Instructors choose their own schedules and may teach as much or as little as they want. Full instructor certification training and materials are provided to qualified candidates. The role requires bilingual English and Portuguese skills. This is a continuous-recruitment posting for NSC’s pool of potential instructor candidates.

Requirements

• Experience in public speaking and the ability to lead effective classroom discussions with diverse groups of students.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Portuguese.
• A personal email address for communication through the Instructor Portal and DDC Information Highway.
• Ability to handle unexpected difficulties, including equipment failures, facility issues, student learning or behavioral difficulties, and class disruptions.
