About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking part-time instructors to teach Political Science courses. The primary teaching format will be on-ground, with potential opportunities for online instruction. A key course assignment is Introduction to American Politics (PSC 101), a four-credit course that includes a Nevada Constitution and Politics component. CSN is Nevada's largest college and one of the largest in the nation, operating in over 50 locations including 3 main campuses, as well as multiple sites and centers throughout the southern Nevada area. As a comprehensive, multi-campus community college, and the largest and most ethnically diverse institution in the state of Nevada, CSN educates over 50,000 students, including more than 14,000 non-credit students annually. Requirements

Master's degree in political science (Ph.D. preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught (also from a regionally accredited college or university).

Responsibilities

Teach college-level courses in the field.
Develop syllabi and course materials.
Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
Teach at multiple campuses in Clark County.
Be available to teach day, evening and/or weekend courses.
