About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for Digital Electronics for Fiscal Year 2027. This role involves delivering lecture and lab instruction, assisting students with practical applications, developing course materials, evaluating student mastery, and providing advisement. The position is part-time, with an equivalent of 47.5% full-time, and compensation is based on lecture credit hours. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis, and courses are offered at multiple campuses, in-person and online, during days, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

• 5 years of work-related experience in electronics, electrical/electronic systems, engineering technology, or closely related field.
• OR Applied Science degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or an equivalent degree

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited College/University
• Two years of professional experience as an Electronics Technician or in a closely related technical field.
• One year full-time teaching experience in electronics, digital electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related technical discipline
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce
• Knowledge of digital electronics laboratory equipment and computer classroom technologies, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, logic analyzers, and circuit simulation software
• Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems

Responsibilities

• Lecture and or Lab instruction for Digital Electronics and related Engineering Technology courses.
• Demonstrate and assist students with digital electronics lab procedures, test equipment, circuit construction, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety precautions.
• Develop syllabi, laboratory activities, and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives.
• Independently evaluate student mastery of digital electronics skills and competencies required by course outcomes. Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
• Provide advisement to students
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.
