Part-Time Household Manager & Family Assistant

Sage HausSandusky, OH
Onsite

About The Position

We are a busy, active family of four based in Sandusky, Ohio, with two school-age children and three beloved pets - two dogs and a very senior cat. Both parents work full-time and maintain flexible but demanding schedules. We are deeply health-conscious, following a whole foods, largely gluten-reduced, dye-free approach to eating, and we are intentional about the role that nutrition plays in our family's physical and mental wellbeing. We are a warm household that tends toward organized chaos in the best way - there is a lot happening at any given time, but we rely on strong systems to keep things moving smoothly. We value someone who feels comfortable working independently and confidently within the flow of a busy home. Organization, comfort with animals, ability to cook and support meal prep, and flexibility across household tasks are especially important to us, as is a proactive, team-oriented mindset. Our home has a well-established sense of structure and “everything has a place,” even if daily life occasionally pulls things out of that rhythm. We are preparing for an exciting transition: a new home is currently under construction nearby, which adds both opportunity and need for an extra set of hands. We are looking for someone who will grow with us through that chapter and beyond.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and clean driving record required (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Comfortable working in a home with two energetic dogs and a senior cat
  • Maintain a fragrance-free environment: candidate must refrain from wearing perfume or strong scents
  • The ideal candidate is the kind of person who notices things without being asked. You walk into a home and see what needs attention - a load of laundry ready for the dryer, surfaces that need a quick wipe, a package that arrived and needs to be unpacked and put away.
  • You take initiative naturally and find satisfaction in leaving a space better than you found it.
  • You are organized and detail-oriented, comfortable following systems as well as suggesting improvements to them.
  • You communicate clearly and promptly - a quick text response during the day is important to this family.
  • You are warm and friendly, able to build genuine rapport with children and adults alike.
  • You are comfortable around pets, including energetic dogs, and you take others’ preferences for their health and nutrition seriously enough to follow detailed dietary guidelines with care and consistency.
  • You are someone who is interested in growing with a family over time, not just filling hours.
