About The Position

Based in Bend, OR, this is a part-time role for a Household Manager & Family Assistant. The family is a warm, active, high-energy family of four with two school-age children (ages 9 and 12) and a dog. Both parents have demanding careers and travel frequently. The family values a well-run, organized, and healthy home environment. They are seeking a seasoned, proactive individual to create and maintain household systems, manage laundry and dishes, handle organizational projects, reset spaces, and support the after-school routine. The goal is to free up the parents' time to be present with their children and ensure the home is a calm, relaxing space.

Responsibilities

  • Support the after-school transition for children, including unpacking/repacking lunch boxes and activity bags, and helping them settle in.
  • Provide engaging homework support for children.
  • Coordinate and facilitate playdates, including pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Provide light supervision and back-up childcare.
  • Drive children to after-school sports.
  • Stay updated on children's schedules via a shared calendar.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets to keep common areas tidy.
  • Prep the home before the biweekly cleaner arrives.
  • Handle light tidying tasks such as dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Undertake organizational projects in areas like the playroom, art supplies, books, children's clothing, kitchen, pantry, closets, and drawers.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage a running household supply list.
  • Handle mail and package processing, including breaking down boxes.
  • Run ad hoc errands such as pharmacy runs, library book drop-offs, and ingredient pick-ups.
  • Perform mid-week grocery shopping to restock essentials.
  • Prep healthy snacks for children after school.
  • Assist with light meal prep, such as washing and prepping produce and getting dinner started.
  • Maintain kitchen clean-up and ongoing maintenance.
  • Support kitchen prep for work-related content creation.
  • Manage household laundry and linens, including washing, folding, and organizing.
  • Keep the laundry area tidy and well-stocked.
  • Oversee that children feed and take out the dog after school.
  • Undertake occasional deep-clean projects, such as fridge or washing machine maintenance.
  • Complete one-off organizational projects as they arise.
