About The Position

This is a part-time Household Manager & Family Assistant role for a busy family of four in Bend, OR. The family includes two school-age children (ages 9 and 12) and a dog. Both parents have demanding careers and travel frequently, requiring a proactive and organized individual to manage the household and support the family's daily routines. The goal is to create and maintain systems that ensure a well-run, organized, and calm home environment, allowing the family to focus on quality time together. The role involves supporting the after-school transition, managing household organization projects, running errands, assisting with meal preparation, handling laundry, and basic pet care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, reliable, and experienced in working with school-age children and within a family household.

Responsibilities

  • After-school transition support: unpacking and repacking lunch boxes and activity bags, and helping kids settle in after school, including engaging in meaningful homework support
  • Coordinating and facilitating play dates, including pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Light supervision and back-up childcare
  • Driving kids to after school sports
  • Staying plugged into kids' schedules via a shared calendar
  • Creating and maintaining household organization systems throughout the home
  • Daily resets to keep common areas tidy and prepping the home before the biweekly cleaner arrives
  • Light tidying: dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Organizational projects: playroom, art supplies, books, kids' clothing, kitchen, pantry, closets, drawers, and more
  • Restocking pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Managing a running household supply list
  • Mail and package handling, breaking down boxes
  • Ad hoc errands (pharmacy runs, library book drop, ingredients)
  • Mid-week grocery shopping to restock essentials
  • Prepping healthy snacks for the children after school
  • Light meal prep: washing and prepping produce, getting dinner started
  • Kitchen clean-up and ongoing maintenance
  • Support kitchen prep for work-related content creation
  • Washing, folding, and organizing laundry for the household
  • Keeping the laundry area tidy and well-stocked
  • Overseeing that the kids feed and take out the dog after school
  • Occasional deep-clean projects: fridge, washing machine maintenance
  • One-off organizational projects as they come up
