About The Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool in the Gerontology Department at the Sylvania Campus. This pool is for potential part-time faculty assignments, including substitute and full-term class assignments, as the need arises during the academic year. The department will review applications from this pool to identify suitable candidates for course assignments. Applicants are encouraged to review the Gerontology program information and the PCC Course Catalog, and to list the specific PCC courses they are qualified to teach in their application.

Requirements

  • Course-specific Gerontology Instructor Qualifications (refer to Gerontology Instructor Qualifications page for details).
  • Earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
  • For foreign credentials, transcripts must be evaluated by an agency in good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
  • Ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Gerontology courses as assigned.
  • Potentially serve as a substitute instructor for Gerontology courses.
  • Potentially teach full-term class assignments in Gerontology.
