About The Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications for a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool in Business Administration, covering areas such as Marketing, Management, Supply Chain, Project Management, Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship. This pool is for identifying applicants based on course assignment needs for the Academic Year, with applications reviewed monthly. Courses are offered in multiple modes, with an anticipated need for faculty able to teach face-to-face on-site at the Sylvania, Rock Creek, Southeast, and Cascade campuses, as well as online.

Requirements

  • Masters in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or other business-related field (unless otherwise specified for individual courses).
  • Five years of related full-time equivalent non-teaching work experience related to the subject areas teaching.
  • Ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.
  • Official transcripts required within 2 weeks of offer date for required degrees.
  • Academic credentials must be from a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • For BA 150 & BA 250: General Business Qualifications OR Bachelor’s Degree and five years business ownership experience.
  • For BA 203 & BA 234: A minimum of three years international business experience preferred.
  • For BA 224: General Business Qualifications. OR Bachelor’s degree, five years of related full-time equivalent non-teaching work experience, and SHRM Certification required.
  • For BA 226 & BA 227: Law degree (JD) preferred.
  • For BA 235: General Business Qualifications OR Bachelor’s Degree and five years demonstrated social media marketing experience.
  • For BA 255: Teaching experience preferred. PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Business Administration, including Marketing, Management, Supply Chain, Project Management, Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship.
  • Potentially teach courses face-to-face on-site at PCC campuses or online.
  • Be available to teach courses as assigned based on program needs.
