About The Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool in Auto Collision Repair at the Rock Creek Campus. This pool is used to identify applicants as the need arises for new part-time faculty. Applications may be considered for substitute or full-term class assignments. The college serves approximately 80,000 students across four campuses, five workforce training centers, and 200 community locations, aiming to make high-quality education accessible and contribute to economic development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • I-CAR Training in Auto Collision Repair
  • Five (5) years full-time “on the line” experience in Auto Collision Repair with some technical knowledge of Auto Body Painting
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory work experience in the Auto Collision Repair industry.
  • ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Auto Collision Repair is required within the first year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • AAS (or higher) in Auto Collision Repair Technology
  • Teacher’s preparation coursework
  • Five (5) years current full-time “on the line” experience in Auto Collision Repair with some technical knowledge of Auto Body Painting
  • Five (5) years recent experience teaching elements of Auto Collision Repair
  • Five (5) years supervisory experience in the Auto Collision Repair industry.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Auto Collision Repair courses.
  • List current PCC courses which you would be able to teach.
  • Potentially serve as a substitute instructor.
