About The Position

At Culver, faculty are more than classroom teachers. They are advisors, collaborators, coaches, role models, and lifelong learners who invest deeply in the lives of students. We seek educators who embrace the opportunities of boarding school life, value strong relationships, and believe that character development is as important as academic growth. Culver’s academic program is built on an intensive 4x4 block schedule. Faculty typically teach two 80-minute classes each day with an average class size of approximately 14 students. This structure allows teachers to build meaningful relationships with students while creating engaging, discussion-rich, and student-centered learning experiences. Collaboration and collegiality are central to our culture. Faculty work closely with colleagues through course teams, department meetings, and interdisciplinary initiatives to continually strengthen curriculum, instruction, and student support. We value educators who are reflective, growth-oriented, and excited to contribute to a professional culture grounded in continuous improvement. Because learning at Culver extends well beyond the classroom, faculty also participate meaningfully in student life through advising, coaching, residential life, clubs, service, or other co-curricular programs. The strength of our community comes from adults who are visible, engaged, and invested in students’ experiences. Culver’s educational approach is rooted in our core virtues: wisdom, courage, moderation, justice, transcendence, and humanity and lived out through our values of duty, truth, honor, and service. We seek educators who will help students practice character, grow as transformational leaders, and honor their responsibilities as citizens. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community where every student and employee is known, valued, and supported. We believe the diversity of our backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives strengthens our school and enriches the educational experience for all. Every member of the Culver community promotes the well-being of others by respecting differences with kindness and open-mindedness. Culver is deeply committed to the growth and development of its faculty. Department Chairs serve as guides through Culver’s intentional growth and reflection system. Professional learning opportunities include conferences, graduate coursework, curriculum development, collaborative inquiry, and on-campus workshops and forums. Faculty are encouraged to pursue individual goals in line with shared institutional objectives.
