About The Position
The Barista creates an exceptional guest experience through outstanding hospitality, product quality, and efficient café operations. The role prepares high-quality coffee, tea, and food offerings while fostering a welcoming and energetic environment for guests and team members. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about hospitality, teamwork, and memorable customer experiences. The Barista welcomes and guides guests, prepares beverages and food according to company standards, supports mobile and in-person ordering, and helps keep the café clean, stocked, safe, and organized. The position also involves teamwork, inventory and delivery support, compliance with company policies, and reporting safety or operational concerns.
Requirements
- Passion for hospitality and creating positive customer experiences in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

- Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently under pressure.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Flexibility to attend quarterly team meetings, trainings, or company events that may occasionally occur outside regular scheduled shifts.
- Reliable attendance and consistent availability, including a minimum commitment of three shifts per week.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently throughout a café in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong close-range vision and attention to detail for drink preparation, cash handling, and order accuracy.
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, and perform cleaning, stocking, and other operational tasks.
- Ability to remain on one's feet for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to operate a POS system, cash register, or tablet to process customer orders and payments accurately.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to safely and efficiently operate espresso machines, steamers, grinders, and other café equipment.

- Previous café, coffee, or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and deliver an elevated customer experience.
- Explain beverage and food offerings, answer customer questions, and build rapport.
- Handle phone inquiries, process orders accurately, and support mobile ordering.
- Maintain a calm, professional presence during high-volume periods.
- Prepare beverages and food items consistently according to Alfred recipes and standards.
- Operate, clean, and maintain coffee equipment, and keep preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Develop knowledge of coffee and tea origins, flavor profiles, and preparation methods.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through active listening, clear communication, and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Work with leadership and teammates to address operational needs and maintain consistency across shifts.
- Keep the café clean, organized, and stocked throughout each shift.
- Assist with inventory, restocking, deliveries, and café upkeep.
- Follow company policies and employee handbook procedures.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and café organization procedures.
- Report safety hazards, incidents, and operational concerns to management.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet company goals.
