About The Position

The Part-Time Barista creates an exceptional guest experience through outstanding hospitality, product quality, and efficient café operations. The role prepares high-quality coffee, tea, and food offerings while fostering a welcoming and energetic environment for guests and team members. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about hospitality, teamwork, and creating memorable customer experiences. The Barista welcomes and guides guests, answers questions, builds rapport, handles phone inquiries, processes orders, and supports mobile ordering. The role also prepares beverages and food to company standards, operates and maintains coffee equipment, and keeps preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitary. Baristas contribute to a positive team environment and support café operations, including inventory, restocking, deliveries, and general upkeep. They follow company food-safety and other procedures and report safety hazards, incidents, or operational concerns to Management.

Requirements

Previous café, coffee, or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
Passion for hospitality and positive customer experiences in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a collaborative team setting.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow.
Flexibility to attend quarterly team meetings, trainings, or company events that may occasionally occur outside regular scheduled shifts.
Reliable attendance and consistent availability, including a minimum commitment of three shifts per week.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Ability to move quickly and efficiently throughout a café in a fast-paced environment.
Strong close-range vision and attention to detail for drink preparation, cash handling, and order accuracy.
Ability to bend, squat, reach, and perform cleaning, stocking, and other operational tasks as needed.
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
Ability to operate a POS system, cash register, or tablet device to process customer orders and payments accurately.
Hand dexterity and coordination to safely and efficiently operate espresso machines, steamers, grinders, and other café equipment.

Assist with inventory, restocking, deliveries, and café upkeep.
Follow company policies and procedures, including food-safety, sanitation, hygiene, and café-organization procedures.
Report safety hazards, incidents, or operational concerns to Management.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet company goals.
