Part-Time After-School Nanny Job in Kirkland, WA | School-Year Childcare Position
About The Position
We are a warm, easygoing family in Kirkland looking for an engaging after-school nanny to support our two school-age children throughout the school year. Our family values quality time together, sharing meals around the table, and creating opportunities to connect through conversation, games, and family activities. We are looking for someone who can become a positive role model, help encourage healthy routines, and bring fresh ideas that inspire our children to stay active and engaged beyond screens. This position is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who enjoys building meaningful relationships with older children while also providing light household support before they arrive home from school.
Requirements
- Previous nanny or childcare experience with school-age children
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Safe and reliable vehicle to transport children
- Comfortable transporting children when needed
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and proactive
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
- Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
- Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
- May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner

- An interest in music, art, games, outdoor adventures, or other hobbies that school-age children enjoy would be a wonderful bonus.
Responsibilities
- Pick up one child while the other arrives home by bus.
- Prepare healthy after-school snacks.
- Supervise homework and reading.
- Encourage engaging activities that balance creativity, outdoor play, and fun with friends.
- Bring new ideas that match children's interests while expanding their horizons.
- Occasional transportation to playdates or activities.
- Tidy the kitchen and main living spaces.
- Unload or load the dishwasher.
- Light laundry.
- Take out the trash.
- Help keep the home organized.
