About The Position

East Wind Nannies is seeking a part-time nanny for a warm McCandless family with a bright, curious 7-year-old daughter. This role focuses on the after-school shift, involving school pick-up, providing snacks, and engaging in afternoon activities such as park visits, outdoor adventures, creative play, or quiet time. The nanny will provide a calm, steady presence, utilizing routines, choices, gentle redirection, and playfulness to ensure smooth afternoons. The family is looking for someone dependable, organized, comfortable taking the lead, enjoys spending time outdoors, and genuinely likes interacting with school-age children. A safe driving record is important, and the family will provide a vehicle for outings and school pick-up. The ideal candidate will become a trusted part of the family's weekday routine.

Requirements

• Up-to-date vaccinations, including annual flu and COVID
• Driver's license
• Vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Previous nanny experience for a minimum of 2 years

Nice To Haves

• Ability to begin as early as 2 pm or stay until 7 pm for additional hours
• Willingness to work additional hours during school breaks, teacher in-service days, summer, and occasional date nights

Responsibilities

• School pick-up
• Provide snacks
• Engage in afternoon activities (e.g., park visits, outdoor adventures, creative play)
• Provide a calm and steady presence
• Utilize routines, choices, gentle redirection, and playfulness
• Perform light household tasks such as family laundry, vacuuming/sweeping, and light dinner prep
• Assist in caring for the family's two cats
