PARKS CARETAKER I - Maintenance - Range 7 / L71
About The Position
This position will maintain the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) park land and sports facilities, outdoor recreation facilities, trails, and municipality-owned grounds. Routine maintenance to a specific project or specialized area of responsibility at one park or recreational facility, or at several parks or areas. Winter duties may include, but are not limited to, litter collection, snow & ice removal, outdoor recreational ice maintenance, trail grooming and maintenance, special event preparation and support, and general grounds and facility cleaning and repair. Summer duties may include, but are not limited to, turf and irrigation maintenance; litter collection; athletic and multi-use field maintenance; trail maintenance; park fence and barrier repairs; park shelters, amenities, and equipment cleaning and repair; special event preparation and support; and general grounds and facility care. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three (3) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
- Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
- Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
- Must provide Union Dispatch Referral Form by the time of hire.
