About The Position

The Parking Enforcement Supervisor position involves investigating and resolving citizen complaints, reviewing vehicle impound procedures and reports to recommend appropriate action, and preparing written responses to route slips. This role includes assigning and evaluating the work of subordinates, training them on issuing parking citations, and scheduling their work. Additionally, the supervisor will operate a personal computer to access citations and other information, review accidents and on-the-job injuries of City employees, attend review board meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. Employees in this classification are scheduled to receive general wage increases: 3.5% effective 7/1/27, 2% effective 7/1/28, and 2% effective 1/1/29. Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).

Requirements

  • One year of full-time experience at a level equivalent to a Parking Enforcement Officer II with the City of San Diego
  • OR Three years of full-time experience at a level equivalent to a Parking Enforcement Officer I with the City of San Diego
  • A valid California Class C Driver's License is required at the time of hire
  • City of San Diego employees using Out-of-Class Assignment (OCA) experience to qualify must submit written documentation signed by their appointing authority or payroll specialist, detailing the work performed, dates, and total number of qualifying OCA hours.

Responsibilities
