About The Position

This is a temporary/seasonal position responsible for enforcing parking and traffic ordinances, as well as campground fee compliance on the Homer Spit. The role involves issuing citations for code violations and collecting parking and camping fees. Employees who complete the full 5-month term of employment will receive a $1000 bonus.

Requirements

Two years of experience requiring public contact.
Valid Driver License.
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience with heavy/awkward fee collection boxes that must be transported to the harbormaster's office for accounting.

Responsibilities

Respond to public inquiries regarding parking regulations.
Enforce parking and traffic violations and issue citations.
Collect parking fees at the port and harbor facility.
Assist with parking lot delineation and traffic control.
Install and maintain signage for parking rules and information.
Collect parking fees and enforce vehicle compliance at the Homer Airport.
Collect camp fees and enforce compliance at Mariner Park, Pier 1 Theatre, Fishing Hole, and Tent Camp West.
Conduct vehicle and trailer impoundments under the direction of the harbormaster.
Perform other duties as assigned.
