About The Position

Under general direction of the TS PARKING SYSTEMS MANAGER, manages and maintains application-level software. Implements and maintains automated and manual systems including administering, testing, debugging, maintaining and documenting system applications. Uses broad working knowledge of data processing to facilitate the definition of solutions to meet business requirements. Supports users working with assigned systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of business systems analysis.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of systems analysis and design, including software development and system administration.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of business and public administration.
  • Knowledge of current information technology best practices and trends.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Ability to plan and develop time and cost estimates for project activities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with relational database management systems.
  • Experience with virtualized server environments, networking, and/or high transaction database infrastructure.
  • Experience with Python programming language.
  • Experience with Parking Revenue Control Systems, Parking Guidance Systems, and/or Parking Inventory Systems
  • Framework Technologies: Automated Vehicle Identification, License Plate Recognition, AVI/ RFID Technology, Variable Message Signage, and Relational Databases
  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et. Al. and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
  • For Public Safety Systems: Current Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) certification or the ability to obtain certification within thirty (30) days.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain systems related to the DFW parking systems and infrastructure.
  • Manages the configuration of parking related systems including but not limited to administration, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, code migration, performance monitoring, system support, and end-user support.
  • Ensures the integrity, reliability and availability of parking a goal of maximizing system up-time.
  • Proactively monitors and measures the performance and health of parking systems and responds accordingly when systems fail to meet desired metrics.
  • Reviews current and proposed software systems to ensure compatibility with other software systems and future business needs.
  • Works with managers and other teams to define business problems and configure software systems solutions.
  • Communicates with users and management staff throughout the life cycle of a given application to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Performs specialized configuration tasks requiring a high degree of technical proficiency in such areas as databases, data communications and virtualized server infrastructure.
  • Configures, tests, debugs and documents complex programs using specialized computer languages.
  • Provides emergency on-call response for one or more applications.
  • Provides customized training and training documentation on current and future functionality of supported software systems.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams, to implement improved business solutions/business processes based on strategic plans.
  • Utilize business user stories to determine business and technology requirements to ultimately deliver exceptional solutions, features, modules, and small projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Identifies configuration issues and corrective action to mitigate system impacts.
  • Participate in the rollout of any changes to the production environment and the setting of new standards using documentation, and full communication with the change management board.
