About The Position
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is looking for a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker who is ready to take on meaningful work in a beautiful setting. This role lets you contribute to the care and improvement of Little Buffalo State Park. Each day brings new tasks that help the park operate smoothly and safely. In this position, you will support the daily upkeep and improvement of facilities and natural areas at Little Buffalo State Park. The work you will do focuses on a wide range of maintenance tasks that keep the park clean, safe, and functional for visitors.
Requirements
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
Responsibilities
- Assist with semi-skilled tasks in construction and routine park maintenance
- Help skilled workers with repairs to buildings and facilities using basic tools of various trades
- Operate and care for park vehicles, tools, and machines used for maintenance tasks
- Perform mowing, trimming, planting, site preparation, and general landscape upkeep
- Clean restrooms, pavilions, offices, and other park structures while completing minor repairs
- Provide helpful information to park visitors in a friendly and professional manner
