About The Position

We are seeking a Parent Aid to join our team. Your role will provide support services to parents and families to help strengthen relationships and reunify parents and children. Your role will help develop trusting, nurturing, and supportive relationships with families through short and long term intervention using various social work and educational methods, including individual, and/or group family support, and supervised visitation. As a member of the MO Foster Care team, you will work with other team members and report to our Director of Foster Care and Adoption.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience working with children and families
High school diploma or GED is required.
Demonstrate knowledge of child development practice is required.
At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening.
A valid driver’s license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

Supervises visitation between parents and children in foster care in an office or community setting.
Engage families through a strength based approach that encourages the client to see their own strengths and make self-directed efforts at change.
Maintains files according to agency requirements.
May transport families as necessary.
Capable of functioning independently, practicing good judgment and discretion in decision making and promote positive parenting and child development while reducing the risk of child maltreatment.
Demonstrated willingness to work a non-structured flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
