About The Position

PathPoint is seeking a full-time Parent Partner for its Kids & Families Together division in Ventura, CA. This role is for an individual who has successfully reunited with their children after involvement with the child welfare system. The Parent Partner will provide support, education, mentorship, and healing to families currently involved with child welfare. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. The ideal candidate is caring, kind, possesses good communication skills, and is proficient with computer software.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent at minimum.
  • Must have successfully completed their case plan with CFS and had their case dismissed.
  • Must provide a letter of recommendation from the COUNTY social worker and social worker supervisor (at the time of CFS case dismissal) stating the successful dismissal of CFS services.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license, up-to-date insurance, and registration.
  • Culturally aware, acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds, possesses skills to collaborate across cultures, and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences.

Responsibilities

  • Support families in navigating the child welfare system using lived experience.
  • Work with Ventura County parents who may be overwhelmed or in crisis.
  • Consistently meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Maintain up-to-date case notes and documentation, demonstrating organization and detail-orientation.
  • Potentially have a flexible work schedule based on caregiver availability, caseload, and organizational needs.
  • Utilize strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel), web-based timekeeping systems, and databases.
  • Use reliable transportation to drive throughout the county (Ventura to Simi Valley to Piru) to serve clients in-home.
  • Embrace an attachment and trauma-informed approach, respecting cultural diversity and other forms of diversity.
  • Advocate for parents involved with child welfare and provide feedback and insight to drive systemic change.
