About The Position

Lynn Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional for the COACh Classroom, serving as a long-term substitute. This role involves working with students in an urban setting, reinforcing learning, and supporting the classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will be willing to be trained in and use ABA Techniques and Safety Care, as well as assist with data collection and toileting. A male aide is preferred for this position. Requirements

• Strong desire to work with students in an urban setting
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
• Willingness to be trained in & use ABA Techniques and Safety Care/Data Collection/Toileting

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills.
• Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
• Check notebooks, correct papers, and supervise testing and makeup work, as assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with large group activities such as reading aloud, storytelling, etc.
• Alert the regular teacher to any program or special information about an individual student.
• Communicate with the classroom teacher about any concerns regarding students.
• Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of a fully licensed teacher.
