About The Position

Paraprofessionals assist teachers in providing an innovative, high-quality education program designed to meet the needs of children in the Boston Public Schools. They work with school staff to create an educational environment where quality and continuity are key factors in educating students. This is an anticipated vacancy at Tynan Elementary, expected to be vacant by 10/30/2026. The incumbent may rescind their retirement, leave, or resignation until that date, so the hire will not be confirmed until the position is vacated. If it is not vacant by the start of the school year, the hire may begin as a Long-Term Substitute. The position is covered by BTU terms and the Paraprofessional hourly rate; salary information is available on the BPS website. School start and end times and school-day lengths vary, and some schools have an extended day through the Schedule A Expanded Learning Time agreement.
