At Oak Hill School, we understand that no learning solution is a fit for every learner. In light of that, we tailor a unique program to each and every student that enables them to master lifelong skills. Most of our classrooms are located within community environments in Hartford, Avon, Plainville, Bristol, Portland, Hebron and Haddam Killingworth, allowing for best integration opportunities. Many of our classrooms are located in public school settings and provide students a unique integration experience. This model promotes the inclusion of Oak Hill students in the life of their school and their home communities. Some residential students live in supervised community group homes. Our classrooms are heterogeneous, providing our students with exposure to a diverse population of students where they can learn from each other. Our programs are divided into Primary/Elementary classrooms and Secondary/Transition classrooms. Oak Hill School sets the standard in empowering students to learn through meaningful, functional, and innovative educational experiences that build self-advocacy and independence and reinforce the dignity of students using comprehensive transdisciplinary support. Do you have a passion for helping children learn, grow, and become more independent? Are you patient, compassionate, and energized by making a meaningful difference? If so, Oak Hill School invites you to join our dedicated team as a Paraprofessional-Instruction! As a Paraprofessional-Instruction, you'll work alongside Special Education Teachers and a multidisciplinary team to support students with diverse learning and developmental needs. Every day presents an opportunity to celebrate milestones, encourage independence, and help students achieve their educational and personal goals.
