About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional II provides instructional and behavioral support to students in accomplishing learning objectives. The position works with students of all ages who have severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned. The role is at Nile Garden School and is scheduled for 5.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
• Meet one of the following education or proficiency requirements: 48 semester units, an Associate degree or higher, or pass proficiency requirements established by the District.
• Submit a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and proof of an Associate or Bachelor degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or a certificate showing successful completion of a basic Paraprofessional proficiency test.
• Candidates submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States must also provide a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
• If selected, provide proof of completion of high school or an equivalent program.
• Complete TB clearance and fingerprinting if hired; these are at the employee's cost.
