About The Position

The ER Paramedic is a specially trained bedside caregiver who assists the professional nursing staff in performing routine care, performs specialized technical skills, reports any unusual incident or findings, and always maintains patient safety to a group of patients for a designated time period. ED Paramedic provides care in accordance with standards and procedures of the hospital and works under the direct supervision of a physician.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Paramedic Certification.
• One year acute care hospital experience or one year experience as an EMT/Paramedic on an ambulance crew or Patient Care Technician.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 6 months of hire) certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
• Upon hire, the paramedic will be assigned a de-escalation class via Health Stream.
