About The Position

This role involves responding to patient needs with a focus on privacy, confidentiality, safety, and holistic care. The Paramedic will incorporate population-specific safety and infection control measures, respect patient individuality, and engage families in healthcare. They will perform technical skills adapted to patient needs and provide safe patient care under physician delegation. Collaboration with the healthcare team, promotion of cost-effectiveness, and adaptability to changing workloads are key. The position is full-time, nights, with 36 hours weekly, consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends. The Emergency Department at Texas Health Rockwall offers engaged leadership, a supportive team environment, and new equipment and technology.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required
EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required upon hire or LP - Licensed Paramedic required upon hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required and maintained quarterly
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced environment
Positive interpersonal skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to perform basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

1 year experience paramedic experience in EMS or fire department preferred
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 90 days of hire
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
