Paramedic - PRN
About The Position
Haxtun Health Ambulance is hiring a PRN Paramedic to provide as-needed coverage for patients in the community. The role does not have regularly scheduled shifts. Weekday coverage is handled by the first available responders able to answer a call. Weekend coverage is provided by two on-call responders from Saturday at 6:00 a.m. to Monday at 6:00 a.m.; on-call hourly pay is provided during this period. In addition to on-call pay, the Paramedic earns commission on a per-trip basis for each call taken. The Paramedic provides immediate, high-quality care to critically ill and injured patients, responding to emergency calls and inter-facility transfers. Care must follow Haxtun Ambulance EMS Protocols and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment guidelines. This PRN position is not eligible for benefits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Current Colorado EMS certification as a Paramedic, which must be maintained.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Ability to obtain ICS 100 and 700 for NIMS compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate, high-quality care to critically ill and injured patients.
- Respond to emergency calls and inter-facility transfers.
- Follow Haxtun Ambulance EMS Protocols and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment guidelines.
- Provide weekday coverage as an available responder and participate in weekend on-call coverage as assigned.
