About The Position

This is a DoD SkillBridge Internship opportunity for a Paralegal role at Forward Edge AI, a company focused on creating AI for the benefit of humanity in areas like social justice, national security, and public safety. The intern will work cross-functionally in developing products and services, conducting research, and developing creative solutions to complex problems. The company emphasizes that everything they do is novel.

Requirements

• Must be active-duty U.S. Military Service Member who qualifies for participation in the DoD SkillBridge Program.
• Experience in the following skills: enjoys seeing other people succeed, versatile, respectful, socially adept, has situational awareness, articulate, has great communication skills, critical thinker, problem solver, has emotional intelligence, understands process improvement, has strong initiative and drive, is a self-motivator.
• IP experiences desired.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the Artificial Intelligence world.
• Experience in Intellectual Property (IP).

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to members who are seeking legal help.
• Assists in the preparation of legal forms and documents.
• Conducts legal research and properly stores/ organizes legal records and/or official publications.
• Prepares official accounts of investigations and court proceedings.
• Assists with processing appeals while handling a variety of administrative and clerical duties in a law office.
• Provides support to lawyers and judges.
• Provides services for family law, including powers of attorney, wills and separation decrees.
• Conducts research on judicial and administrative rulings, determinations, opinions and decisions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
