About The Position

Maimone Legal is hiring an in-office paralegal for its immigration team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The paralegal will work alongside attorneys on investor visas (E-2 and EB-5), family-based petitions, and nonimmigrant visa applications. The role involves preparing petitions and supporting evidence, collecting and reviewing client documents, and ensuring complete and timely filings. Immigration experience is not required; the firm is willing to teach immigration-specific work to a paralegal with a strong foundation in managing files and deadlines. This is not an entry-level or remote role. The firm describes itself as a family-run, immigrant-owned law firm practicing immigration, business, and estate planning law, and emphasizes tailored client strategies and direct access to the professionals handling cases.

Requirements

At least 3 years as a paralegal at a law firm in any practice area, handling files from start to finish.
Associate's degree or paralegal certificate.
Strong attention to detail.
Clear, professional writing and phone manner.
Ability to work on-site in Fort Lauderdale, Monday through Friday.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Build immigration petitions and supporting evidence packages for attorney review.
Prepare, check, and mail paper petitions, ensuring forms, signatures, and exhibits are in place.
Request and review client documents and follow up until files are complete.
Draft cover letters, client correspondence, affidavits, and government forms.
Track deadlines, receipt notices, and case status in the case management system.
Provide clients with clear, plain-language updates on their case status.
Manage an individual caseload from document collection through filing.
