About The Position

The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for client law firms. Due to increased demand, we are interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Florida Family Law & Civil Litigation Paralegal. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 10+ hours per week.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paralegal with direct experience in Florida family law and civil litigation matters.
Strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, family law procedures, court rules, and filing requirements.
Experience with e-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
Strong calendaring and deadline-management skills.
Strong client communication skills.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently and proactively move cases forward with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Drafting pleadings, motions, petitions, notices, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
Supporting family law matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, alimony, modifications, and post-judgment proceedings.
Managing active family law and civil litigation files from inception through settlement, hearing, or trial.
Handling all phases of discovery, including drafting, responding to, reviewing, and organizing discovery requests and productions.
E-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
Scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, judicial assistants, and court personnel.
Monitoring court deadlines and ensuring compliance with scheduling orders.
Conducting legal research and assisting attorneys with hearing and trial preparation, including exhibits, witness files, and trial binders.
Communicating with clients, handling sensitive family law matters professionally and compassionately.
Managing multiple active matters simultaneously.
Working independently and proactively moving cases forward with minimal supervision.
