Our Columbia, South Carolina location is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Employment Law team. Requirements

  • Experience working as a Paralegal in an employment law environment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and motivated.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to work with multiple attorneys, handle a large workload and enjoy working on site in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Four-year degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Experience handling federal and state litigation of employment law claims.
  • Knowledgeable and able to navigate and conduct research on PACER.
  • Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare, draft, and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Handle case management, including maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and organizing discovery materials.
  • Experienced with EEOC, S.C. Human Affairs Commission, and other employment related administrative proceedings and the deadlines associated with the same.
  • Coordinate and manage client communication, including scheduling interviews and client meetings.
  • Perform factual investigations by gathering and reviewing records, documents, and evidence related to employment law claims.
  • Prepare trial and deposition binders, and assist in trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
  • Summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and other documents relevant to cases.
  • File documents with the court and manage electronic filing processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive case information.
