About The Position

The Paralegal – Legal, Risk & Compliance provides operational and administrative support to the Director of Legal Operations, Risk Management & Compliance in managing the Federally Qualified Health Center’s (FQHC) compliance program, risk management activities, and legal operations. This role coordinates regulatory documentation, contract management, investigations, and audit preparation to ensure processes are organized, timely, and audit-ready.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • 2–5 years in legal support, healthcare compliance, risk management, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulatory environments.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and deadline management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, DocuSign, Compliatric, and RLDatix.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Healthcare or FQHC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize documentation supporting compliance with HRSA Section 330, HIPAA, 340B, and other applicable federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Support preparation for HRSA Operational Site Visits (OSVs), audits, and internal readiness reviews by organizing and tracking required documentation.
  • Intake, log, and track incident reports, grievances, and adverse events in the event reporting system, and support related investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Draft, format, and manage contracts, amendments, and legal correspondence; track contract lifecycle from intake through execution and renewal.
  • Conduct legal research and support responses to subpoenas, court orders, and medical record requests by organizing records and tracking deadlines.
  • Maintain centralized filing systems and ensure proper document retention, including handling of privileged and confidential information.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and outside counsel to support compliance, risk, and legal initiatives.
  • Monitor deadlines and regulatory deliverables; prepare reports, dashboards, and materials for leadership.
  • Coordinate meetings, track action items, and support ongoing departmental operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department.
