About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to manage a high-volume caseload through all stages of litigation, including trial. This role involves providing direction and support to junior staff, assisting with discovery, coordinating with expert witnesses, and managing case files. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental regulatory bodies and processes in California, as well as experience with California civil procedure and discovery rules.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an environmental or mass tort litigation paralegal
• Working knowledge of California environmental regulatory bodies and processes (Cal/OSHA, DTSC, SCAQMD, OEHHA, EPA, or similar)
• Experience drafting or processing CPRA/FOIA requests strongly preferred
• Familiarity with California civil procedure and discovery rules (CCP)
• Proficiency with case management and e-discovery software
• High attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing deadlines
• Familiarity with expert discovery and scientific/technical documents

Nice To Haves

• Experience filing in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts preferred
• Prior experience at a plaintiff-side litigation firm is preferred
• Spanish speaking is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload through all stages of litigation, including trial
• Provide direction, oversight, and support to junior litigation staff, ensuring quality and consistency of work
• Assist with discovery, including document production, privilege logs, and deposition preparation
• Coordinate with expert witnesses and manage expert file materials
• Review medical records and coordinate expert examinations
• Maintain case files, pleadings, exhibit lists, and litigation calendars
• Drive trial preparation including drafting trial pleadings, and in-person trial attendance as needed
• Communicate with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and government agencies as directed by attorneys
