About The Position

The Paralegal will provide critical legal support to Strong Spirits, INC. in several key areas including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contract administration, and the preparation and negotiation of company contracts. This role will also encompass a range of corporate legal tasks, particularly emphasizing regulatory compliance filings, reporting, legal intake, contract management, contract drafting, template management, and general administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field, or a paralegal certification from an accredited program is required
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across various departments facilitate their operations.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to critically evaluate information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manage a considerable workload and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • at least two years of in-house corporate legal experience.
  • TTB experience preferred.
  • Experience in the alcohol beverage industry is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, file, and maintain a comprehensive calendar for various regulatory filing including state and municipal licenses and permits. Ensure that corporate information is regularly updated with the appropriate Secretary of State offices for multiple entities while also managing additional necessary regulatory filing
  • Assist the Client Services department in the ongoing maintenance and updating of customer contracts
  • Support the Compliance department by providing monthly reports on state and federal activities as required
  • Organize and maintain both an electronic contract database and physical files for all departments to facilitate business operations
  • Administer routine contract obligations, maintain a contract calendar, and monitor renewal deadlines
  • Manage and oversee contract deadlines and expirations, advising relevant departments on necessary actions
  • Draft initial versions or mark-ups of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) under the supervision of a designated attorney
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate company contracts, requests for proposals, and other legal documents under the guidance of a supervising attorney
  • Conduct legal research and compile summaries of findings as assigned by the supervisory attorney
  • Facilitate information requests among various company personnel
  • Apply established educational principles while remaining informed about emerging training methods to effectively support the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manage
  • Collaborate closely with management, supervisors, and the safety team to ensure compliance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Legal and Compliance team
