The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The New York City Police Department strives to foster a safe and fair city through the strategic deployment of resources, focusing on both crime prevention and addressing quality-of-life concerns while building lasting community relationships. The Early Intervention Program analyzes relevant events and information sources to identify members who may be at-risk for poor performance/adverse consequences. Confers with member’s commanding officer and relevant stakeholders. Designs a remedial action plan to provide guidance and support and enhance performance. Coordinates with the Health and Wellness Section to ensure a holistic approach to the member’s well-being. Coordinates the Early Intervention Committee. The duties of the Paralegal Aide II include, but are not limited to: - Locates, assembles, organizes and monitors data, records, documents, and information related to the Department which are necessary in order to inquiries, regarding Stop, Question, and Frisk, Racial Profiling Complaints, Adverse Credibility Findings, Suppression Decisions, Declined to Prosecute Data and develop an Early Intervention System (EIS) to include: certain types of arrests, excessive force, and ongoing disciplinary proceedings; - Assists in reviewing background information to be used in preparation for Department responses; - Performs routine legal research and summaries, drafting legal communications for review by higher level staff; and - Assists with case studies/projects into identified patterns and trends necessitating additional data analysis.
