Paralegal 1 (with in-training from LA2) - Vancouver RSD - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
About The Position
This is a full-time, permanent position with a two-tier, in-training program designed for internal AGO legal support professionals to advance from Legal Assistant 2 to Paralegal 1. The selected candidate will start at the Legal Assistant 2 classification, promote to Legal Assistant 3, and then to Paralegal 1 upon successful completion of the in-training program. The position is based in Vancouver, Washington, within the Regional Services Division. The AGO offers a supportive, collaborative environment that values work-life balance and provides numerous professional development and growth opportunities. Most Paralegal 1 positions are represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE). Salary will be determined based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications. Promotional salaries will follow Article 42.9 of the WFSE CBA or the AGO Salary Determination Policy. The position supports the permanency team and is not a case-carrying role.
Requirements
- Must hold a permanent status as a Legal Assistant 1 in the AGO to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities
- Analyze facts
- Compose documents and pleadings
- Schedule and/or interview witnesses
- Research legal issues and evaluate the facts of the cases
- Coordinate the preparation for litigation
